Angelica Castano, Counselor

Angelica Castano is a passionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling, holding licensure since 2011.  With over a decade of experience, Angelica has developed a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the diverse ways in which it can manifest in individuals of all ages.  She has worked extensively with children, adults and families in various mental health settings, providing support and guidance to those navigating life’s challenges.  A bilingual counselor fluent in both English and Spanish, Angelica is able to bridge cultural and language barriers, making her services accessible to a wider range of clients. She takes pride in offering a safe, inclusive environment where clients can feel heard and understood, regardless of their background.

Angelica utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from a wide range of evidence-based modalities to meet the unique needs of her clients.  She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Sand Tray, Art Activities, Talk Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and mindfulness practices to help individual process emotions, manage stress and develop healthier coping mechanisms.  In addition to one-on-one therapy, Angelica has a rich background in group work, having facilitated therapeutic groups in diverse settings, including a men’s prison, facilitating women’s domestic violence groups and teen groups.

Outside of her professional life, Angelica is a fitness enthusiast who believes in the integral connections between mental and physical well-being.  She enjoys hiking, mountain biking and views exercise as vital to maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.  Her belief in the power of a strong support network and physical activity to enhance mental health drives her approach to counseling.

Angelica’s commitment to her clients is rooted in her desires to give back to the community.  She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those she works with and believes that every client can take something valuable from her services.  Whether through individual therapy, group work, or community involvement, Angelica is devoted to helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive.  She looks forward to continuing to serve her community and empowering others to live fuller, healthier lives.
